The Brain

I watched a program on PBS called "How Does the Brain Work?" last night and it made an impact on me. I have always been interested in the brain and this was a great program. Not only did it have many new facts that amazed me, but it also had some ideas that had interested me for a long time. It also had some scary ideas, because we don't always know how a person's brain works or why a person does the things they do. Even with all the new methods to study the brain, there is still much to be learned.
It is fascinating to realize that reality may be entirely different to different people and what one person may think is fantasy may be very real to someone else. So real that a person may have actual proof of their beliefs, much to the utter amazement of the people that don't understand at all. What a person's brain believes, becomes real to them. It is fascinating!

A Single Moment

A single moment of a person's life could fill a whole book. And life is filled with moments that can either make or break a person but definitely change a person completely. You may have been planning your life for years and suddenly---in a single moment, your life may become something so unexpected and impossible that not even a dream would have given any clue at all!
So much happens in so little time. Actually it is fascinating when you consider that our very lifetimes are so short compared to the time of the whole universe! And yet so much happens to each person in one lifespan, imagine all the things that happen to all other persons in the world.
Some of the things that happen to some persons have so many reprecussions in that person's life, whether they planned it or not. And yet some people think that there are no coincidences and that anything that happens was meant to happen. Some even think that some things cannot be avoided at all, no matter how hard you try.
